Sponsorship Sales & Activation: Corporate Sponsorship Sales

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively prospecting and researching for new business leads, opportunities and partnerships
  • Develop new and tailored programs to meet the specific needs of each partner
  • Communicate regularly with current and prospective partners through phone calls, emails, personal appointments and hospitality at organizational events
  • A strong focus on relationship sales, development and customer retention
  • Manage assigned renewals, retention and development of existing assigned partnerships
  • Manage implementation of new and assigned partnerships including proposals, planning, execution, customer service, and proof of performance
  • Fulfill the following sponsorship elements for corporate partnerships: gameday activation, community programs, hospitality, internet/social media/contests, merchandise/premiums, print, signage, TV/radio and other elements as necessary
  • Assist with partnership fulfillment and execution of all assigned partnership programs to ensure all contractual partnership obligations are being met during each season (i.e. signage, events, promotions, contests, programming, etc.)
  • Track all relevant business development correspondence and revenue data through KORE
  • Work with other departments (community relations, marketing, operations, etc.) within the organization to ensure the implementation of all sponsor inventory
  • Assist with managing the execution of all business development inventory on gamedays and at non-gameday events
  • Assist with sponsorship presentations and meetings (prepare action plans, renewal proposals, end-of-year recaps, meeting agendas, etc.)
  • Build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to help aid in development of the department and organization
  • Provide a high level of customer service to all assigned partners of the organization
  • Active participation in organizational development ideation sessions
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned


Minimum Qualifications for the Position:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ work experience in sports-related marketing, business, sales, events and/or media is required
  • Sales experience is required
  • A./B.S. in marketing or related field
  • Experience leading projects from start to finish
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Adobe Photoshop is a plus
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays
