Food and Beverage: Chef/Cook
The pastry cook is responsible for the day to day operations in the Back of the House and Kitchen area including but not limited to preparation, maintenance of quality standards, food standards, safety and sanitation.  The products, food, and duties you perform are vital to the success of our restaurant. You will be expected to provide the highest quality product for the unique dining experience where dishes are not timed by the kitchen but cooked and brought fresh to the table to facilitate the conversation and overall experience of our guests.
 
Core Responsibilities
·         Assist in the receiving and ordering of all product
·         Managing the daily responsibilities of the staff
·         Fill in where needed to ensure we meet hour high guest service standards and efficient operations
·         Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures including checking and maintaining proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
·         Ensure equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs
·         Performing opening, closing & side duties – setting up, stocking, and breaking down all kitchen equipment and prep, line, expo stations
·         Maintain an organized and sanitary kitchen environment ensuring restaurant meets all DOH and HAACP codes
·         Stocking products & Recycling  products
·         Properly reading items printed on order tickets or automated Kitchen Display System
·         Assembling orders - double checking product quality and specs
·         Demonstrating impeccable product knowledge
·         Communicating professionally with co-workers and Front-of-the-House staff
·         Other duties as assigned
 
Minimum Qualifications for the Position:
·         Must be at least 18 years of age
·         2-3 Years Cooking Experience
·         Knowledge of BOH procedures for food, safety and sanitation
·         Experience in procuring and receiving product preferred
·         A food safety certification program is required to be completed before being able to handle food
