The Head Athletic Trainer will lead the evaluation of athlete injuries, prevention and maintenance plans, and provide rehabilitation for athletic related injuries.  Duties and Responsibilities <ul> <li>Lead the evaluation of athletes injured during games and practices, including on the bench and on field;</li> <li>Coordinate care with medical team to implement treatment plans, including player medical appointments and treat injured athletes, both on the road and at home;</li> <li>Communicate with team doctors, GM, Coaching Staff, on status of athletes during treatment, including return to play status;</li> <li>Direct care for coaches, lacrosse department staff, and management as needed;</li> <li>Administrative recordkeeping including uploading doctor/treatment notes, input of injury notes, dissemination of injury reports;</li> <li>Liaise with Human Resources regarding workers comp claims/invoices;</li> <li>Maintain Athletic Training room, including scheduled maintenance on equipment, cleaning to reduce risk of infection, organization and maintenance of supplies;</li> <li>Coordinate pre-season, in-season, and post season physicals, including exit exams, players signed or traded during season;</li> <li>Set up game day coverage with local EMT’s and medical staff;</li> <li>Coordinate with local ambulance company annually to review Emergency Action Plan with medical staff, including review of spine boarding protocol;</li> <li>Remain current with NLL medical standards of practice, concussion protocols, and continuing education BOC requirements;</li> <li>Coordinate with players during the offseason including implementing rehab/prehab protocols and help with them getting treatments as needed;</li> <li>Assist equipment managers with packing and unpacking equipment from our bus before and after games and practices;</li> <li>Other related duties as assigned.</li> </ul> Requirements <ul> <li>Minimum of 3 years’ of related experience required, experience with a sports team preferred;</li> <li>Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred;</li> <li>Current NATABOC certification and New York State licensure; or eligibility to obtain;</li> <li>Must have effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment alongside other allied medical professionals;</li> <li>Must have a positive attitude to ensure athletic training room is a beneficial environment;</li> <li>Flexibility in travelling with the team, working extended hours including weeknights, weekends, and holidays as required.</li> </ul>   Pegula Sports & Entertainment is an Equal Opportunity Employer
