Position Summary:

The Programming Coordinator is responsible for representing the LA Galaxy and the soccer programs offered in the community. The incumbent will support all operational and administration assets for the LA Galaxy programming including but not limited to Camps, Clinics, Tours, Tournaments and Galaxy II tryouts. They will also find new opportunities for the Galaxy to become the preeminent purveyor of soccer in the southern California landscape.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Programming team with the development of new soccer programming to deepen and expand the impact and participation in LA Galaxy soccer by confidently delivering current programs, actively identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to the department’s mission every day. 
  • Manage, schedule and strategically engage all non-player programming staff including coaches, referees and trainers, through internal scheduling platforms, networking events, continued education opportunities and more. 
  • Develop and execute registration and communication plan for GII Tryouts, Tours, Fantasy Camps and other non-Youth programs, clinics, and tournaments. 
  • Accurately manage, track and report program registration and budget in relation to program goals, using the established registration platform and internal tracking systems. 
  • Manage onsite operational functions for GII Tryouts, Camps, Clinics and Tours. Duties include but are not limited to serving as the main contact for all inquiries, setting up and tearing down, completing the check-in process and ensuring a smooth event. 
  • Enact a strategic vision, provide continuous feedback and propose business solutions for department platforms and initiatives, including but not limited to, the registration platform, communication processes, and administration processes.
  • Promote positive guest relations, making every effort to accommodate any guest’s reasonable request with the highest standards of courtesy, respect and efficiency. 
  • Work with the Youth Programming Coordinator to prepare annual impact report to be with internal teams and external stakeholders, quantifying the LA Galaxy Programming’s impact on the soccer community, guiding future Programming.
  • Assist in creating and executing new Coaching and Referee Education.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 2 years of related experience
  2. Knowledge and awareness of LA soccer community
  3. Microsoft Office proficiency required; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn required business systems
  4. Strong supporter and advocate to the mission, vision and core values of the LA Galaxy.
  5. Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with the ability to successfully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  6. Detail oriented team player who can multi-task and prioritize with strong follow-up skills
  7. Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills
  8. Flexible and able to adapt to various environments and situations
  9. Able to stand or otherwise remain stationary for long periods of time
  10. Able to load/unload merchandise, typically weighing 5 to 15 lbs.
  11. High ethical standards and strong sense of confidentiality
  12. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and events as business dictates
