Texas Motor Speedway Events/Administration Internship

The internship program at Texas Motor Speedway provides college students the opportunity to gain experience in both events/administration and motorsports. The internship allows students to gain hands-on experience in motorsports while at the same time allowing them to network with individuals in the industry. By the end of their internship they will have a greater understanding of the process and preparation that goes into a race weekend. The internship lasts the length of the semester and all interns will get to experience one race weekend. The internship is unpaid.

  • College level majoring in communications, sport management, business administration or related field
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to remain flexible, handling changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Must be able to work major events that fall during the internship
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Suite but not mandatory

Responsibilities: (Expanded upon during interview)
  • Help assist in day to day office operations – making phone calls, organizing, filing, etc
  • Maintain database of Total Access Today Affiliates
  • Assist in organizing events
  • Work closely with the marketing and events departments 
  • Assist in activation of events hosted by the speedway
  • Schedule meetings between departments
  • Mailing out tickets
  • Maintaining suite invite lists
  • Assisting in the Fan Assistant Program during race time
  • Hosting suites on race weekends
  • Help update pocket guide
  • Assist in planning the pre-event meeting before every race weekend
