Job Duties:
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with TV & radio sports/news directors and talent on local, regional and national levels as well as in the motorsports industry
  • Overseeing technical and scheduling aspects for radio and TV outlets in the Victory Lane Broadcast Center during race weeks
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects and execution of PR resources such as Satellite Media Tours, Video News Releases, videoconferences, radio remotes, media center broadcast set, audio set-up
  • Ability to aggressively and effectively pitch creative story ideas for both sports and news in a top-five media market for all events associated with the speedway
  • Planning and execution of major media events 
  • Ability to shoot and edit video b-roll and finished packages as well as audio clips, both internally for TMS and externally for media outlets
  • Ability to communicate with PR representatives of motorsports sanctioning bodies and teams to secure drivers for various media opportunities
  • Strong writing, editing skills to produce press releases and publications
  • Social media awareness to create avenues for TMS-produced video packages


  •  Requirements:
  • Four-year college degree with an emphasis in communications/journalism/public relations and/or television
  • Minimum five years of experience in public relations or television (or combination)
  • In-depth knowledge of NASCAR and INDYCAR
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Audacity (audio), Final Cut (video), High Tail, Dropbox (video/audio file transfers), CyberDuck (FTP sites) and Windows Movie Maker.
