Texas Motor Speedway is a world class oval 1.44 mile track, club and towers located on 1500 acres in Fort Worth, Texas. Opening in 1996, Texas Motor Speedway offers a wide range of fan experiences including NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Camping World Truck Series, NTT Indy Car Series and Goodguys Car Shows. Entertainment facilities include Turn 1 Terrace , Restart Bar, Burnout Alley, 13k square feet Ball Room, Starlight Dining Room for 300 and individual Meeting Rooms. Texas Motor Speedway is also home to the Texas division of Speedway Children’s Charities. Fort Worth, Texas is the 12th largest U.S. city with a growing population and thriving business climate that includes renowned museums, rodeo experiences and headquarters for American Airlines, Toyota, GameStop, Pioneer Corporation and GM Financial, to name a few.

Position Summary:
  • Manage the day-to-day staff by leading, coaching, and developing through effective and inspiring leadership
  • Oversee the daily management and operation of the facility and multiple, overlapping events and activities including financial outcomes
  • Expand existing events and current land and facility use to develop Texas Motor Speedway into a Destination for multiple target markets with regional, national and international appeal with a focus on:

Motorsports Competitions
  • Oversee the promotion and hosting of major motorsports events including execution of planned marketing, ticketing, sponsorship activation, and event schedules to deliver memorable experiences to tickets fans and corporate clients
 
Corporate Event Hosting
  • Maximize use of Texas Motor Speedway’s facilities use by corporate clients for hospitality events and experiences
  • Gain expert level knowledge of local, regional and industry planned events to identify potential for coordinated experiences and activities  
  • Develop ongoing relationships with regional political and business leadership to enhance the speedway’s standing as a key element in the region’s economic vitality, serving as the speedway’s representative with organizations and events that can help enhance that goal.
  • Develop local, regional and industry relationships to foster new Destination experiences; new business segments and new partners
  • Develop local/regional/national tourism strategies and policies, with internal and external parties (including government offices and associations) for Destination development, marketing and promotion)
  • Lead speedway’s community relations efforts, including fundraising events and grant distribution for the Texas Motor Speedway chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Stellar record of Team Leadership and Guest Satisfaction, including wide recognition as a strong/dynamic leader
  • Entrepreneurial Drive; Desire to serve multiple constituencies including fans and corporate client 
  • Experience Meeting/Exceeding Qualitative and Quantitative Profitability Targets 
  • Track record of Retention and Expansion of Key Relationships 
  • Experience managing a high-end Destination 
  • Automotive Passion and experience/strong familiarity with the motorsports industry
  • 10+ Years Relevant Experience with a Destination Employer and/or with an Automotive/Entertainment Employer and/or Career focus
  • Exceptional Organization Skills; Impeccable and Responsive Interpersonal and Communication Skills
