 DIVISION SERVICES COORDINATOR
NORTHEAST REGION / Lancaster, PA area
 LOCATION:             Northeast Division Office – Lancaster, PA area
 REPORTS TO:         Division Director – Northeastern Region
 JOB STATUS:          In – House, not Hybrid or Remote
 
GENERAL:
 Under the direction of the Division Director, primary responsibilities include:
 
  • Assist competitors with navigation of the rulebook regarding technical questions.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of all Divisional events including but not limited to:  races (in and out of division); annual track operator & safety meetings; annual awards banquet
  • Assist with event & overall divisional budgeting and accounting
  • Assist in managing and improving upon the division’s social media presence
  • Set-up live streaming equipment
  • Assist in the repair, maintenance, and transportation of all divisional equipment, including but not limited to: Safety Safari trucks; trailers (and their contents); safety critical equipment
  • Assist in the general upkeep of the division 1 office
  • Assist all member tracks with event promotion
  • Service and expand divisional & national promotional programs and sponsorships into areas or categories where they do not currently exist while maintaining current programs and sponsorships
  • Manage personal administrative and clerical responsibilities
  • Assist in the processing of all new and renewal race licenses.
  • Seek out new hires for all positions within the Division
  • Coordinate staffing and all travel accommodations for all division Officials
 
Qualifications / Skills Needed:
 
  • A minimum of 5+ years related experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.  
  • Must have a basic knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and various other computer programs.  
  • Experience with timing and scoring systems used in Drag Racing is also required.  
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with racers and management.
  • Must have strong organization and time management skills.
  • Must maintain a calm professional demeanor during crisis situations.  
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a Class-A CDL to drive the Division truck and trailer
  • Must be insurable under NHRA’s driver policy.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred. 
  • Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% travel and requires the candidate be able to maintain non-traditional hours, as needed, to include evenings and weekend hours.  “Days off” will remain flexible given the division race schedule each week.
 
Note:  This position will travel to Connecticut; Delaware; District of Columbia; Maine; Maryland; Massachusetts; New Hampshire; New Jersey; New York; Pennsylvania; Rhode Island; Vermont; Virginia; West Virginia; Maritime Provinces, Eastern Ontario, and Quebec, Canada, and any other location required to service the Division and the NHRA.
  
MINIMUM SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma and 5 years of related experience.  Bachelor’s degree is preferred.  
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively with racers and all levels of management both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Able to maintain a calm professional demeanor during crisis situations.
  • A CDL driver license and medical card is required.  Must be able to be insured under NHRA’s driver policy.  
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work as a “team”. 
  • This position requires a minimum of 50% travel and requires the candidate be able to maintain non-traditional hours, as needed, to include evenings and weekend hours.  “Days off” will remain flexible given the division race schedule each week.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for 10-12 hours a day in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to talk on the phone as needed.
  • Must be able to work on the computer all day.
