The Event Operations Intern will assist the Director of Operation with logistical planning for MIS events as well as helping with the day to day operations of the Operations Department. The Event Operations Intern will work directly with department supervisors to ensure their different areas are set up with the equipment and supplies needed to operate each event. The Event Operations intern will also work with MIS’s operational partners and vendors to support them as needed throughout each event.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary:
1) Logistical Planning
a) Will work with the Director of Operations to help build operational plans for each event including resources needed as well as staffing needs.
2) Event Operations
a) Will work with department supervisors to figure out event needs and make sure those needs are in place prior to each event.
b) Will make sure all event equipment needs are setup and operational prior to each event.
c) Post event will make sure all equipment is picked up, secured, and stored properly.
d) Will work with operational partners and vendors providing support and assistance throughout each event.
e) Assist with the recruitment and contracting of service groups as need for events.
3) Day to Day Operations
a) Assist the departments Event Operations department as needed.
To perform this job successfully the applicant applying for this internship must have organizational and interpersonal skills, willing to be part of a team based work environment, able and comfortable working with tight deadlines, able to deal with conflict and work in stressful environments, and good time management. The applicant must also be familiar with Microsoft Office 2013 more specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Microsoft Visio would be recommended but not required. This job will require an individual to operate MIS equipment so a clean driving record is also required.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
This job requires an individual that is willing to work long demanding hours, some weekends will also be required. At times this individual may also be required to assist with projects outside of their normal day to day duties.
This job may require an individual to work outdoors in all types of weather elements with moderately physical tasks.
