Facility Operations/Event Staff: Security
General Description:Security Field Coordinator will provide overall security for Kansas Speedway to insure the safety and security of company personnel and property as well as the safety of fans and participants during various events and the off-season. This position involves event weekend and occasional extended weekday hours as needed. The Senior Manager of Event Operations may assign additional duties and/or responsibilities as deemed necessary.
 Duties and Responsibilities:     
  • Communicate assignments to all Security Services staff and vendors as necessary
  • Assist the Security Coordinator as necessary
  • Assist with developing and implementing security related processes to insure the safety of all guests and staff
  • Must be a team orientated person and self-motivated 
  • Patrol and inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, violence, and infractions of rules or illegal activity
  • Enforce Kansas Speedway policy and procedures
  • Assist with lost and found items throughout the year
  • Maintain the use of radio and telephone communications to call for assistance for ambulance, wrecker, local police or fire departments as the situation dictates
  • Prepare security department incident reports and forms
  • Perform crowd control, check credentials of people and vehicles entering and leaving the premises
  • Man stationary posts, mobile patrolling and foot patrolling around buildings and complexes
  • Assist 24/7 staff and event staff as necessary
  • Assist with preparing, scheduling and maintaining weekly and bi-weekly ABI payroll for staff
  • Assist Guest Services staff as deemed necessary
 Education/Technical/Physical Skills Required: 
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Recommended a minimum of 4 year experience in the Security industry 
  • Strong communication and written skills
  • Comprehensive skills with computers and Microsoft programs
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
  • Bend, twist, crouch, grip and carry heavy loads of upwards of 50 lbs.
  • Walk on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license to operate motor vehicles
  • Endure long hours on feet, potential weather hazards and irregular work schedules
  • Able to handle the stress of dealing with the occasional disgruntled or demanding patron(s)
  • Able to learn and be fluent with our ABI scheduling and payroll systems


  • Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, precautions, prevention, and the protection of people, data and property
  • Able to communicate the English language: including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar
  • Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques
