IMS Productions is a premier, multi-faceted, multimedia production company located in Indianapolis, Indiana just across the street from the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. POSITION SUMMARY:
Full-time position as Director of the IMS Radio Network to oversee all aspects of the Network’s activities, including staffing, travel, scheduling and production, affiliate relations and contracts with radio stations, annual budgets and sales and overall day-to-day operations of the Network.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:          
  • Contract with radio stations and builds a wide Network of affiliates.
  • Hire of staff for all broadcasts and schedules staff for all broadcasts, plus provides payroll and per diem for all events.
  • Work with IMS, PRN, AdLarge (nat’l sales partner), plus individuals and partner organizations to build sales.
  • Develop an annual budget and sees that the approved budget is met.
  • Work as on-site producer of all broadcasts, including practices, qualifying and races for both Indy Lights and IndyCar.
  • Develop new and better ways to make the broadcasts and indycarradio.com more appealing to the listener and less-expensive for IMS.

General Administrative Duties
  • Work with legal to develop affiliate contracts.
  • Oversee travel for all events, including getting staff to and from events and staff hotels and rental cars.
  • Work with colleagues to develop written and audio content for indycarradio.com.
  • Work with counterparts in IMS Departments to develop radio partnerships.
  • Develop race logs and affidavits for all broadcasts and sends them to the respective agencies and account executives.
  • Work with accounting on keeping accounts receivables up-to-date.
  • Work with engineering staff to keep the equipment working and up-to-date.
  • Work with track credential departments to get staff the proper credentialing.
  • Work with tracks to schedule interviews.
  • Work with Marketing to ensure IMS and IndyCar events are promoted on the Network.
  • Write sales proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President, IMS Productions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position does not have a full-time direct report but does supervise a seasonal staff of between 15-20 announcers, engineers and board operators.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree, or similar educational program; or the substantial equivalent in other training or direct job experience in communications.
Skills/Experience
  • At least 10 years’ experience in working in the broadcast industry
  • Basic understandings of satellite delivery and internet delivery of broadcasts, as well as audio equipment
  • Basic knowledge of auto racing, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis 500 and other races at the IMS track, IndyCar racing, NASCAR, and other racing series.
  • Basic knowledge of radio stations operations
  • Strong research, organizational, and writing skills
  • Experience with website and social media management (Facebook, Twitter) 
  • Extensive experience working collaboratively with a variety of people with different skills and abilities.
  • Understands annual planning and budgeting processes and has had significant experience with both.
  • Understands Nielsen/Arbitron data and can analyze it to monitor and measure performance.
  • Uses technology to achieve desired results; uses MICROSOFT Office products (OUTLOOK, WORD and EXCEL), and other software and hardware technology systems.

Travel/Work Hours
  • This position requires travel to all race events during the INDYCAR Series racing season as well as occasional additional travel requirements.
  • This position requires flexibility due to being part of an event driven business. This will require working extended hours as business demands, including nights and weekends.
