The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Senior Database Developer to build and scale the backend infrastructure to serve up terabytes of content to over 80 million users and used in over 200 mobile apps around the world. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in building large-scale production-ready databases, including designing/deploying/querying relational and NoSQL databases, writing Java-based data applications and ETL workflows, and deploying systems using cloud services providers such as AWS. We are looking for a senior developer who is capable of working on multiple projects at once and seeing them all through to completion, and a self-starter who is able to work through any obstacles to get the job done. We are a 24/7/365 global sports entity, so a solid understanding and love of sports and digital platforms is highly recommended.
We are looking for someone who...
- Is an experienced database engineer
- Is an experienced Java developer
- Has built multiple production web services and backend systems
- Enjoys programming, debugging and dealing with production code every day
What you will be doing...
- Designing, deploying, and managing production databases that house operational, analytical, and archival data from all of our production systems
- Writing Java code for production backend systems that manage the content, analytics and data flows across millions of users around the world
- Working with APIs to pull data from real-time feeds for content, analytics, statistics, to feed into a large-scale global infrastructure
- Working with Java-based high-performance, highly-concurrent distributed systems on a daily basis
Be our MVP if you have...
- 5 years+ of experience with relational databases and designing schemas for relational databases
- 3 years+ of experience in building production Java code
- A deep understanding of the internals of operating systems, communication protocols, kernels
- A love of debugging and troubleshooting distributed systems and production code
- A desire to work in a high energy, fast-paced environment
- A degree in Computer Science
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
