We are looking for a Data Analytics Intern to organize, manage, query, analyze terabytes of data from 200+ mobile apps around the world. This is a 6-month, fully-paid, full-benefits internship position.
The ideal candidate has a passion for programming, data, and sports, and wants a career at the intersection of those fields. In addition, they must be a self-starter with the ability to figure out and use relational databases, AWS cloud services, SQL queries, Tableau, and more. We are a 24/7/365 global sports entity, so a solid understanding and love of sports and digital is highly desired. As is the case in sports, hard work, passion, drive, client focus, and understanding what clients want are the elements that will make for a successful and integral part of our team.

Why this position? With the pandemic, we know that it has been hard for recent graduates to find jobs in the sports industry. Most job opportunities require a wealth of experience to even apply for them, and, as the saying goes, you have to get experience to get experience. This position is intentionally entry-level and for 6 months (along with the salary and benefits that would go to a full-time hire in that role) to staff out specific digital projects. The goal of providing internship positions (rather than hiring full-time staff) is to provide resume-building opportunities and the necessary experience to those whose careers have been impacted by the pandemic. It also gives you a chance to see if a career in the data and analytics side of the sports industry is for you. We don't need you to have a ton of experience. All we ask is that your work ethic is off the charts, that you can learn fast, that you can juggle multiple deadlines and projects, and that you can deliver. On time, and every single time. If there is a mutual fit, the internship opportunity may turn into a full-time, non-internship job with the company. Ideally, you have graduated from school before January 2020, so that we may also consider you for a full-time position after the internship.

- Thinks nothing is impossible
- Can work at the intensity and pace needed in the sports industry
- Is hands-on and in their element with databases, SQL queries, and data visualization
- Can fearlessly pick up any technology on their own, and make themselves a go-to expert at it
What you will be doing...
- Cleaning, organizing, and analyzing terabytes of data from mobile apps
- Running SQL queries on data-sets based on clients' requests
- Creating presentations around the data analyses to explain user behavior and app performance
- Building, maintaining, and refining Tableau dashboards
Be our MVP if you have...
- Hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra
- Experience with AWS cloud services, such as EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift
- Expert programmer and data tinkerer, comfortable around terabytes of data
- Strong work ethic with the ability to get things done and meet deadlines
- Can thrive in a high energy fast-paced digital environment
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, with a heavy focus on data and analytics.
