The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), headquartered in Brevard County, Florida is the world’s largest multi-sport athletic organization. Founded in 1968, it has grown to over 4 million participants competing in 13 nationally sanctioned sports. We are a growing organization that in necessity must expand our National Event locations and workforce to accommodate the growing number of teams and athletes qualifying to participate.
Time Period: The Summer Internship will span from May 1st until August 10th. A six month internship would span from May 1st until December 1st.
Professional Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a relevant major, such as Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Recreation & Parks Management, etc.
- A candidate that has recently graduated in these related fields and seeking experience may also be selected.

Attire:
- Comfortable, appropriate office/field attire is acceptable. No sweat pants or gym attire.
Job Responsibilities: As a Fastpitch/Baseball Event Operations intern, you will be assisting the National Office with the execution of National Championship events including the Elite World Series, World Fastpitch Championship, Space Coast World Series, and All American Games. Your responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following:
- Coordination of National Event operations at USSSA Space Coast Complex, including but not limited to, opening ceremonies, awards ceremonies, hospitality, team registration, coaches meetings, and educational seminars.
- Manage the communication to teams for Team check in, managers meeting, opening ceremonies, additional ancillary events include professional player appearances and daily work duties as assigned.
- Assistance in the organizing of individual athlete registration at the All American Games which means preparing athlete uniforms, swag bags, and itineraries.
- Oversee college coach needs at the World Fastpitch Championship including communication to attending coaches, check in and credentials, parking, viewing areas, and hospitality needs.
- Oversee the World Fastpitch Championship Welcome Night including communication with third party vendors, media department, facilities, and tournament staff needs.
- Assistance with the management of game day operations of three World Series events including communication with facility event manager, tournament directors, UICs, scorekeepers and media department.
- You will be required to attend, in appropriate attire, opening ceremonies in order to be introduced to participants.
- You will need to conduct yourself with integrity, accountability, and excellence.
- Also, you will be expected to communicate effectively and appropriately and do it all with a smile even if it is not reciprocated.
