If you are seeking an intern position and have a passion for social media, teamwork, sports and story telling then USSSA is the place! USSSA is seeking a person who thrives in a fast paced, energetic, collaborative culture. This position will provide the ideation, development and execution of social media programs and campaigns that engage existing fans and new fans both regionally and worldwide.
The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA), headquartered in Brevard County, Florida is the world’s largest multi-sport athletic organization. Our mission is to empower our team and its partners with an unsurpassed platform to create and support world-class athletic events and sports programming to enrich and educate the lives of participants at all levels. Founded in 1968, it has grown to over 4 million participants competing in 13 nationally sanctioned sports. We are a growing organization that in necessity must expand our National Event locations and workforce to accommodate the growing number of teams and athletes qualifying to participate.
Time Period
Unpaid Internship will span over (3 months – 5/10 – 8/10)
Professional Requirements
- Must be currently involved with a filed such as Marketing Communications, Journalism, Sports Marketing, or Media Relations, etc.
- A candidate that has recently graduated, or is currently enrolled in these related fields and seeking experience may also be selected.
- Must be prepared to work flexible hours that mirror the event schedules.
- Proficiency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms.
- General knowledge of image and video formats is preferred.

Attire
- Comfortable, appropriate office/field attire is acceptable. No sweat pants or gym attire.
Job Responsibilities:
- As a Social Media intern, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Routinely monitoring USSSA & Pride social channels and communicate opportunities for engagement.
- Day to day involvement with USSSA and Pride professional fastpitch.
- This person must be able to assist in managing the social media editorial calendar, the coordination of contests and give- aways and respond to fan inquiries as needed.
- Daily work duties can be summarized in 4-P’s: Prompt, Prepared, Professional, and Polite.
- You will need to conduct yourself with integrity, accountability, and excellence.
