Based in Cleveland, Topnotch manages a roster of some of the world’s leading athletes and manages professional events around the United States. The Tennis in the Land WTA 250 event will take place in August 2022 at the Nautica Entertainment Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

About Tennis in the Land

Part of the US Open Series, Tennis in the Land is a WTA 250 event that will welcome some of the top women tennis players in the world the week prior to the US Open. With $300,000 in prize money and valuable ranking points at stake, this is one of the premier stand-alone women’s tennis events in the United States.

Internship overview

Topnotch will be bringing on motivated individuals who want to be an integral part of the planning and operating of a week-long WTA Tour event in Cleveland, OH, broadcast live around the world. The opportunity is to join one of the leading tennis agencies in the world as they bring to life a professional tennis event, and interns will learn from experienced sports marketing professionals and play a meaningful role in the execution of a world class tournament.

Responsibilities and duties

Sales

Work with existing Topnotch sales team to develop sales assets and targets specifically for WTA Cleveland, across both ticketing and sponsorship

Sponsor management

Intern will be the point person for specific sponsors throughout the week, facilitating any needs that come up: ticketing, parking passes, F&B questions, etc.
This will be a VIP-facing role and will give interns the opportunity to network and create relationships.

Requirements and details

The internship will begin June 1st and will finish August 30th. There is no flexibility regarding the end date, as interns should want to be with us through the actual tournament dates.

‣ Interns are required to work out of our Cleveland office during the summer.

‣ Interns will receive a $1,500 stipend and have the opportunity to earn a performance bonus at the conclusion of the event. We can also support college credit.
