Skyhawks Sports Academy is a nationwide youth sports program provider established in 1979.​ We provide safe, positive, skill-based programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, good sportsmanship and respect.​ Skyhawks continues to build on its foundation of providing healthy and active lifestyle choices while helping develop and build the skills and confidence of young athletes (ages 2-14).​ 
 
Summary: 
Skyhawks is seeking a highly self-motivated individual with a love for coaching and influencing youth positively through sports.​ The newly hired Area Coaching Manager will be responsible for coaching and managing in the Twin Cities market.​ The ideal candidate for this position should be a charismatic leader as well as a strong team player.​ You must have a passion for youth development, coaching and recreational athletics.​ You will coach and implement the most popular youth sports programs in the country.​ 
 
General Responsibilities: 
  • Actively coach kids at camp 30+ hours a week, 5 days a week on location at schools and local parks
  • Execute a comprehensive coaching plan 
  • Handling customer and community relations on a local level
  • Maintain year-round relationships with existing accounts 
 
Requirements
Due to our focus on customer service and lasting client relations, Skyhawks will only consider well-rounded individuals for employment. Employees must be able to master not only the coaching-related aspects of the industry, but also have the ability to work well with multi-faceted customers in a professional atmosphere. ​The following are specific attributes that are considered during our screening process: 
  • 2 years of youth sports coaching experience (preferably experience with kids ages 4 to 12)
  • Athletic experience in sports that we offer 
  • Ownership mentality, self-motivated
  • Strategic thinker, responsive, energetic, flexible
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Undergraduate degree 
  • CPR/First Aid certified
  • Love for youth and youth sports
 
Compensation & Benefits: 
  • Annual base salary is $38,000
  • Health benefits available (medical, dental)/or student loan reimbursement 
  • Performance Bonus
  • 3 weeks Paid time off, plus paid holidays 
 
Job Location/Info: 
  • Position will be based in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul Metro Area) Skyhawks will not support relocation expenses. (WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS LOCATED IN SOUTH METRO TWIN CITIES. THIS INCLUDES APPLE VALLEY, BURNSVILLE, PRIOR LAKE, SAVAGE)
  • This position requires a minimum of 30 hours a week of actively coaching, leading, and directing sports camps. The Coaching Manager will have 2 days off per week (TBD)
  •  School Year Hours (Sept-May): Typical hours are: M/Tu/Th: 8:30am-12:30pm, 2:30pm-7:30pm  Sa: 8:30am-2:30pm or Su: 12:30pm-4:30pm
  • Summer Hours (June-August): Typical Hours are: M-Th: 9am-12pm, 1pm-4pm,  5pm-7pm
