DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION
ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
  • The Assistant General Manager, under the direction of the General Manager, will assist in all business related baseball operations of the Kokomo Jackrabbits. This position being Part-Time Seasonal, will work closely with the General Manager and the corporate front office staff in Milwaukee. The Assistant General Manager will play a crucial role in game day operations and pre-season preperation. The responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to:

NON GAME DAY DUTIES: 
Assist General Manager with matters such as:
  • Player Travel & Accomodations 
  • Employee Recruitment and Human Resources
  • Coordinate and Execute a successful Internship Program
  • Schedule speaking engagements and business tours
  • Create game-day intern schedules, rotating throughout departments
  • Create non-game-day office work schedules
  • Create incentive/reward program
  • Coordination of team travel, including team bussing and hotel reservations 
  • Coordination of umpires, confirming game dates and times
  • Work with Food and Beverage Manager on concessions operations, finding ways to improve efficiency and cut expenses
  • Work with Host Family Coordinator on Host Family Program
  • Work with Merchandise Manager on merchandise need
  • Work with Ticketing department on ticketing needs
  • Work with Corporate department on partnership needs, creating a local relationship with partners and ensuring contract elements are being met
  • Work with local clubs, non-profit organizations, and local schools to promote Kokomo Jackrabbits Baseball
  • Help organize and facilitate player and mascot public appearances
  • All other duties as assigned 


GAME DAY DUTIES:
  • Direct and assist with set up of game day items, ensuring stadium is ready for doors open 
  • Ensure team has 3 dozen game balls and water jugs at start of batting practice
  • Greet visiting team and inform them of anything they may need to know regarding the game
  • Greet umpires 1 hour prior to first pitch and inform them of anything they may need to know regarding the game – meet umpires after game to provide payment
  • Interact with fans to ensure we are doing everything we can to make for an enjoyable experience
  • Interact with corporate partners to foster a relationship and ensure we are fulfilling our agreement
  • Coordinate delivery and set-up of post-game meals for Home and visiting team
  • Work cohesively with other departments to ensure successful execution of game operations
  • Observe employees and fans to see if there are areas we can improve upon
  • Direct and assist with tear down of game day items
  • Assist with counting of cash drawers and subsequent post-game reports
