The Company
Relevent Sports Group (RSG) is the premier soccer events and media business in North America and Asia.  RSG operates the International Champions Cup, the summer’s largest club tournament featuring the world’s best teams in iconic venues.  Regarded as one of the most influential privately-owned soccer companies internationally, RSG is focused on expanding its
footprint, creating a year-round soccer platform including properties, such as the Women’s ICC and Futures tournament, Alianza de Futbol, the leading marketer and producer of Hispanic soccer programs in the U.S, and the first-of-its-kind joint venture with LaLiga to promote soccer in North America.

 The Position
The  Director of Global Partnerships is an integral member of the Global Partnerships team, who is responsible for creating new revenue opportunities through business development, optimizing revenue by selling RSG’s full portfolio of inventory to sponsors.  This role will immediately dive in and connect RSG with new business as well as champion the existing business to designated client categories.  The role will require a passion for sales development – with the ability to manage client outreach, pipelines and sales goals.
Key to this role will be working closely across the Partnerships, Marketing Solutions, Content, and Events teams at RSG – good communication skills and ability to work cross-collaboratively are a must!  This role will also possess a self-starter element and be responsible for individual client identification & management, requiring a moderate amount of travel.  The role is located at RSG’s New York office.

 Scope of Role
You will be responsible for driving and selling commercial programs, the programs will include event sponsorship, and other activities that increase the profitability of all of RSG’s events.  This is a dynamic and unique opportunity to join an ever-evolving business.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to:
  • Create strategies to obtain new clients (and renew existing clients) while generating revenue opportunities, developing strong corporate relationships
  • Develop your own pipeline, and close new business opportunities across RSG’s portfolio, using storytelling to effectively sell-in partnership ideas to new business prospects
  • Develop an effective sponsorship business development plan with specified sales targets aligned with the strategic vision of the business
  • Develop and assist with the improvement of ‘best practices’ across sales presentations and pitches (which requires understanding and implementation of compelling, factual, tailored documents and multimedia presentations)
  • Commercialization of RSG assets across events, clients, hospitality, community events, merchandise and new business development through sponsorship sales in soccer
  • Construct and deliver executive level presentations and RFP responses with the ability to conduct full negotiations with clients
  • Ability to identify new sponsorship business opportunities and generate new ideas by participating in the ideation process to inform creative solutions

Skills & Experience Required
As our preferred candidate, you will have:
  • Significant experience in a sales/business development role (minimum eight years) with experience in sales strategy, and demonstrated success in closing sales
  • Commercially minded and results driven with a track record of securing high-level partnerships across a variety of categories
  • Demonstrated ability to sell and exceed set financial targets
  • Contribute to productivity and positive team morale
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines and revenue targets in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and within deadlines
Ability to travel and work on events at week
