Merchandise Sales Associate
The Portland Winterhawks Merchandise Sales Associate job is a PAID position for the 2021-22
season (approximately October-April). The Merchandise Associate is responsible for providing
quick and efficient service to guests in a variety of areas, including, but not limited to, recording
transactions, and collecting payment with a point-of-sale system, stocking fixtures, basic cleaning
tasks and other duties as assigned.

  • Properly enter and complete transactions via the point-of-sale system
  • Provide customer service to guests by being knowledgeable and enthusiastic about products, sales, and discounts
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and products as needed
  • Stock and set up all merchandise retail locations prior to each game or event
  • Ensure that the correct close down procedure is followed: all areas of the store are to be left clean, tidy, and secure, ready for the next day’s service
  • Assist with daily, weekly and month inventory as needed
  • Account for all transactions and maintain accurate balance banks at end of shift
  • Suggest additional items to customers as up-sale opportunities, when appropriate
  • Ensure retail displays are clean and stocked

  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to effectively listen and take direction from store lead.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team during set up and to get tasks done quickly
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and guests

* Store Employees are paid hourly (0-20 hrs/week)
