Facility Operations/Event Staff: Custodial/Housekeeping
Are you looking for an extra paycheck for the holidays? We have a busy October, November and early December and are looking for a Part-Time Housekeeper that is available nights and weekends to help us through our busy season. The schedule is dependent upon events going on in-house and will mainly be nights & weekends.  We look forward to seeing your application!

Summary:
Under general supervision, members of the Housekeeping team are responsible for work in all aspects of general housekeeping and custodial duties for the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform facility cleaning and janitorial tasks including, but not limited to, cleaning and stocking restrooms; sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing and waxing as needed. 
  • Clean and maintain women’s restroom during events. 
  • Have the ability to clean, chairs, desks, counters, sinks, risers, tables, walls, carpets, concrete, terrazzo, and tile floors and operable walls and barricades as needed.
  • Perform janitorial cleaning of all interior non-public areas such as offices and service hallways.
  • Maintain the interior windows and glass doors throughout the building. 
  • Perform daily exterior ground cleaning and maintenance. 
  • Upkeep the readiness meeting rooms prior to event set-up which include, dusting window and door frames and fixtures, wiping down walls as required and cleaning of air duct grates. 
  • Perform deep cleaning/extraction and stain and gum removal on carpets in all areas during and after event hours or as required. 
  • Maintain designated housekeeping equipment, including but not limited to brooms, mops, buckets and wringers, toilet brushes, garbage bags, push brooms, cleaning cloths, gloves, masks and cleaning solutions, etc.
  • Report irregularities, discrepancies, safety, and damage concerns, and the loss of property promptly to the Director of Operations and/or Manager on Duty. 
  • Comply with Northern Kentucky Convention Center policies and procedures associated with such programs as risk management, safety, and emergency management. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
 
Qualifications:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
  • Six months of general janitorial experience required, preferably in a similar environment. 
  • Knowledge of proper custodial techniques and radio usage. 

 Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to prioritize work, utilizing good organizational skills, to meet tight deadlines in an efficient manner. 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure within stringent schedules and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form. 
  • Ability to interact with guests, vendors, and staff in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. 
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the NKYCC team, exhibitors, temporary labor, patrons, in-house vendors, and others encountered during the events. 
  • Physical capability to lift, push up to 50 pounds, stoop, bend, climb stairs and work at heights to operate cleaning equipment as required. 

  Other Qualifications:
  • Available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is moderately exposed to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and perform reasonably heavy labor is required of this position.  Daily shifts will endure various degrees of walking, standing, turning, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, pushing and pulling, requiring a full range of body movements. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
