The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League are seeking an individual to take on the role of Game Operations & Mascot Intern for the 2019-2020 NAHL Season. 


Essential Functions: 
  • Act as a handler during home games and events; assist mascot performer in game situations, communicate with Bears staff to assist in successful game production throughout the game. 
  • Learn the character of Bruno in order to serve as a backup performer for games and events as needed. 
  • Assist in the development and execution of and in-game skits and promotions, costume handling and maintenance, and other game day responsibilities. 
  • Assist in game production preparation, including staging and moving necessary materials, interacting with the public, and troubleshooting ideas. 
  • Be a liaison between Bruno and the public by talking to fans. 
  • Record video of Bruno and promotions/skits, and assist in social media initiatives during games. 
  • Other duties as assigned by staff. 

Qualifications:
  • Must be available to work a majority of the Bears home games for the 2019-2020 season (https://www.marylandblackbears.com/stats/schedule/1132/168/all-months/home?league=1&gametype=-1
  • Previous mascot experience is a plus but is not required 
  • Outgoing, comfortable with speaking to the public, fan friendly 
  • Punctual, reliable, well organized, flexible, and available to work nights and weekends 
  • Interested in working in sports marketing and production 
  • Must be willing and able to work in a costume 
  • Must NOT be allergic to bears
