Senior Vice President, Events
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana (not open to remote)

international sporting events. These sporting events have led to more than $4 billion in direct

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Vice President will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing all
aspects of Indiana Sports Corp’s Event Operations, Youth Programming, Statewide initiatives, special projects, and programs. This includes the day-to-day oversight of event execution, youth programming, budgeting, bid processes, strategic planning and development, implementation of short-term and long-term goals and initiatives, staff supervision and leadership, and other initiatives as assigned by the President.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Develops and leads the strategic direction and vision for event execution, bids, event development, and youth programming.
Oversees the planning, staffing, budgeting, forecasting, and other initiatives for all assigned areas and special projects.
Forges and maintains strategic partnerships and relationships with event owners, venues, local partners, sponsors, and all other professional business relationships.
Performs regular evaluations of all hosted and owned events for total impact and to enhance best practices.
Cultivates a high-performance team committed to meeting individual and overall developmental objectives through effective communication, goal setting, ongoing assessments, and engagement opportunities, including assigning Event Directors to hosted and owned events.
Fosters a growth oriented, positive, and engaging environment while keeping the team accountable to the organization’s goals, culture, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ensures effective communication strategies internally and externally
Engages and works with organizations (NCAA, Big10, Visit Indy, etc.) and the civic community to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Provides leadership in various local organizing committee (LOC) roles and drives LOC community leadership growth.
Prepares, delivers, and presents reports at key executive committee and board meetings, as necessary.
Collaborates with various Senior Leadership staff members to ensure company growth and stability.

Positive Mindset

Education and Experience:

8 - 10 years’ experience in managerial and/or executive roles in the sports industry.
Bachelor’s degree required, a postgraduate degree in business management, administration, and/or finance preferred.
Experience developing and executing growth strategies and building high performing teams.
