ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

LOCATION: 
  • This position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be co-located in the Indiana Sports Corp office. 
 
JOB SUMMARY: 
  • The Marketing & Events Manager drives growth by collaborating with stakeholders and implementing comprehensive marketing plans and executing events. Responsibilities include marketing, communications, digital marketing, content creation, and event planning efforts. The Marketing & Events Manager will report to the Head of Marketing, Sports Tech HQ and will partner with other organizations throughout the State of Indiana.
 
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Actively and aggressively pursue ways to grow the sports tech industry in the State of Indiana.  
  • Contribute to building a comprehensive communication plan for all staff, board members, media, and allied associations, while coordinating efforts with Indiana Sports Corp. 
  • Represent the organization at hospitality and social events, industry meetings, expositions and government relations meetings and maintain contact and mutual business relationships with the same.  
  • Attend necessary Indiana Sports Corp meetings and functions.  
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors, Committees, Indiana Sports Corp, IEDC and STHQ Advisory Board. 
  • Attend Board of Directors and Advisory Board meetings and report on matters of the organization when required and necessary.  
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as are assigned by the Head of Marketing. 

MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Manage the implementation of the overall marketing strategy, working in partnership with the Head of Marketing. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align marketing efforts with overall business objectives. 
  • Contribute to the creation and distribution of marketing/promotional collateral, ensuring it aligns with the overall marketing strategy. 
  • Contribute and collaborate on brand management and adherence to Sports Tech HQ brand standards. 
  • Perform day-to-day tactics as needed. 

EVENT PLANNING: 
  • Collaborate, plan, and execute internal/external events that are hosted/sponsored by Sports Tech HQ. This could include panels, webinars, summits, and conferences to enhance brand visibility and engage with potential clients.  
  • Manage and activate partnerships and implementation of assets tied to partnership agreements. 
  • Manage hospitality and ticket inventory and communications for events and conferences. 
  • Responsible for establishing, negotiating contracts and selecting local vendors.  Works directly with all vendors to coordinate their operations.  

COMMUNICATIONS: 
  • Contribute in the development of internal company correspondence, content and messaging and manage external communications output. 
  • Manage the flow of information through the organization’s leadership, management and various internal stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with third parties to ensure coordination with other strategic sector initiatives that provide cohesive messaging and amplification of related stakeholders in the broader Indiana innovation ecosystem. 

DIGITAL MARKETING: 
  • Manage digital marketing channels, including website content and technology platforms, social media, email campaigns, and online advertising. 
  • Utilize data and analytics to optimize digital marketing efforts, including SEO optimization. 
  • Manage third-party vendors and agreements tied to the execution of digital marketing efforts. 

 CONTENT CREATION: 
  • Assist with the creation of compelling and relevant content, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, podcasts, videos and more. 
  • Utilize storytelling to garner interest and awareness. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) in business, marketing, communications, hospitality or similar is strongly preferred. 
  • 5+ years of extensive marketing and event experience strongly preferred. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Demonstrable experience of building and executing a marketing strategy that positively impacts awareness and pipeline growth. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. 
  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, with an innovative approach to marketing and events.  
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people. 
  • Positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed. 
  • Enthusiasm for learning and leveraging newer technologies, such as AI. 
 
OFFICE ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL: 
  • The Marketing & Events Manager will co-locate with Indiana Sports Corp and partner with other organizations throughout the State of Indiana. Most travel will be local and regional. National and International travel may be required.  
 
REQUIRED PHILOSOPHY: 
  • The Marketing & Events Manager should demonstrate robust organizational skills, analytical acumen, and effective goal-setting capabilities. A strong desire to execute marketing plans and events at a high level, is essential. Adapting and learning are core to success.
