General Manager for our Chico Ice Rink in the Plaza located at Chico City Center,     

November 12, 2021 to January 2, 2022.

We are seeking fun and enthusiastic Team Players for the following position:

Hiring General Managers with strong leadership experience in managing or supervising a team in a fast pace working environment. Must have strong customer service, communication, written, and organizational skills. Having extensive knowledge of the ice skating industry, rink operations, productions and/or competitions is preferred. The General Manager acts as an Ice-America representative and must have the ability to maintain client relationships.
Responsible for eliminating safety hazards, driving sales, reducing controllable expenses, scheduling, and the day-to-day operations of a temporary holiday ice skating event.  Oversee all aspects of the cash register operations, daily banking, and nightly reconciliation following Ice-America policies and procedures. Having proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred. 

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations.
  • Manage the client relationship during the project season.
  • Conduct the staff training and onboarding, as well as staff hiring.
  • Direct the Ice Maintenance Program and oversee Ice Technician Manager.
  • Delegate and assign responsibilities and goals to supervisors and staff.
  • Provide professional solutions to customer issues and employee conflicts.
  • Set work policies and manage the staff scheduling.
  • Check TimeStation for accuracy, handle payroll input and track approved overtime.
  • Deliver bi-weekly TimeStation 
  • Execute sponsor deliverables.
  • Handle waivers (i.e. waiver completion).
  • Manage the point-of-sale system (handle the reporting and cash deposits).
  • Operate and maintain rink equipment: 
    • Point-of-sale system 
    • Lighting 
    • Audio 
    • Security cameras 
    • Radios 
  • Manage the expense report.

  • 1-2 years supervisory or operational management experience.
  • Software efficiency in: Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Smartsheet, Google Workspace, Slack, Dropbox, Square (POS) and Luminair knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or GED-equivalent required.  College degree in related field preferred.
  • Ability to work with various levels of management as well as working with other departments.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, ability to multitask.
  • Extensive managerial background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. 
  • Comfortable public speaking and interacting with people.
  • Prior sales and/or customer service experience preferred.

Looking for strong candidates interested in leading a team in a fun work environment. Applicants must have the availability to work during the holidays, working up to 59 hours a week.  Accepting out of town/state applicants.
Compensation dependent upon experience.
