Job Title: Account Executive

Position Description: 
Flower City Union is seeking an Account Executive to drive revenue for the club through the sale of season tickets, group plans, suites, and sponsorships.  This position is designed to research leads, present inventory to prospective clients, and close sales.  This individual should be comfortable in a business development role and have a desire to grow in the sport industry. 

About the Club:  
Flower City Union is a professional soccer club committed to positively impacting the City of Rochester and its surrounding communities by fielding a competitive, championship-caliber club in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) while supporting the development of youth soccer locally. The Club is committed to nurturing social and economic connections through inclusive business practices. It actively embraces diversity and aims to reflect back the faces and voices of the region.  The Club will play its inaugural season in 2022. 
The ideal candidate will be invested in the Club’s mission, open to non-traditional ideas and approaches, and relational. He/She will have the ability to work autonomously and make decisions on timelines that reflect the needs of the organization and industry, but will also know when to coordinate and consult with other constituents within the club. 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prospect for new business clients in the greater Rochester area
  • Establish and manage relationships through outbound calls, email campaigns, out of office meetings, social media marketing, and more
  • Rebuild relationships with former Rochester soccer partners, warm introductions will be provided by club Managing Director and Chief Commercial Officer
  • Implement and execute a sales plan via pipeline and campaign management to reach individual and department sales targets
  • Manage, mentor, and coach Graduate Assistants as assigned or requested by St. John Fisher College Master in Sport Management program
  • Maintain a high level of sales activity, including but not limited to, a high volume of prospecting calls, sales meetings, networking events and community event attendance 
  • Attend networking and stadium events (game day and non- game day and virtual)
  • Represent the club and organization with a high level of professionalism and integrity
  • Foster a positive work environment within the Flower City Union organization and front office staff, with positive communication between front office staff
  • Create weekly/monthly sales pipeline tracking report, provide updates during staff meetings
  • Represent the club on NISA hosted league sponsorship calls

    Requirements:
  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential job functions:
  • Bachelor’s degree in sport management, business, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of sales experience required, preferably in sports, entertainment, or live events
  • Understanding of ticket sales process and eagerness to develop relationships with individuals and businesses
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including working knowledge of a CRM (HubSpot/Salesforce)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated ability to make quick decisions using sound judgment
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends and to potentially travel with the club
  • Individual must be detail-oriented and a self-starter
  • Knowledge of soccer is a plus, passion for soccer preferred
  • Bilingual is a plus
