ABOUT THE ROLE
As Outlyr continues to expand its event portfolio, the team is looking for a strategic and seasoned event operator to conceptualize, lead and deliver operational plans for several professional golf events across the country, as needed. In this role you’ll be responsible for working with various community leadership teams to develop, design and execute onsite logistics for each tournament. You’ll help define and cultivate operational best practices to support forward planning for all Outlyr events, ensuring that teams across the country are working efficiently and effectively.

This is a highly cross-functional role, as you will collaborate across internal teams including, sales & partnerships, marketing & communications, volunteers, and finance.
The right candidate will be able to work as part of a team, have a flexible approach, and offer an extremely detailed work product. Strong team dynamics skills are required for this position. Extended travel on weekends, evenings and some holiday work may also be required.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Develop and drive strategic operational plans, timelines, and site plans for multiple professional golf events
  • Manage multiple event operations budgets and deliver results in compliance with overall tournament budget
  • Source, negotiate, and execute vendor agreements, as well as own responsibility post contract to ensure tournament needs are met. Oversight of tournament areas including but not limited to: structures, tents, transportation, ecology, audio-visual, security, HVAC/power  
  • Develop key tournament timelines to ensure delivery of on-time tournament build- outs in coordination with host venue’s leadership team
  • Manage local, state, and national permitting 
  • Establish and manage relationships with local / state officials, law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other necessary executional relationships
  • Comply with tour rules and regulations as it relates to specific tournaments
  • Create and oversee tournament emergency plans and protocols 
  • Lead strategic development of best practices, vendor management and forward planning for all Outlyr events engaging cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment across teams

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6+ years of experience in related golf operations field
  • You have an excellent ability to think strategically and analytically about event execution, as well as a strong record of delivering results on-time and within budget
  • To succeed in this role, you will need a keen sense of responsibility, an ability to inspire, be proactive, and exude an ability to flourish in situations of uncertainty and ambiguity 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications, Computer Aided Design Software experience preferred.
  • Experience managing budgets greater than $750,000
  • Experience developing and maintaining operational procedures
  • History in building positive staff and client/vendor relationships, as well as managing “up and down”
  • Ability to problem solve and work effectively under pressure while working as both part of a team as well as independently
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Collaborative in nature with a “no job is too small” attitude to assist with overall account team duties and additional programs as needed 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required 
  • Willing and capable of safely operating heavy machinery (forklift, etc.)
  • Ability and flexibility to travel and weekend/holiday work as needed, approximately 40% - 50% of the year (travel) 
  • Must be available to work full time in California and/or Texas, with travel to other markets as needed
