THE JOB / OPERATIONS TRAINEE:
This is a position within the Eiger Marketing Trainee Program. We are looking for a motivated Operations Trainee to assist the Tournament and event staff with day-to-day operations of preparing for the Volunteers of America Classic to be held June 28 – July 4, 2021. The Operations Trainee will be working full time assisting in miscellaneous projects starting in May 2021 in our The Colony, TX office.
This position offers a unique opportunity to learn event management, on-site logistics and event activation/operation skills to be able to successfully engage with consumers, fans, and vendors. The right candidate will be able to work as part of a team and will interface with internal divisions, client partners and vendors. Strong team dynamics skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required for this position. Travel on weekends, evenings and some holiday work may also be required.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- 0-1+ year of internship/work experience
- Must be available to work full time starting in May 2021 in our The Colony, TX office
- Polished communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, and solve problems independently
- Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Internet
- Extremely organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Interest in sports and event management as a career preferred
- Willingness to work weekends and nonstandard hours particularly during tournament week
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy objects (typically greater than 25lbs)
THE WORK YOU’LL DO:
- Assist tournament staff in coordinating all vendor contracts for the event
- Insure first-class presentation for the operation of event
- Help manage operational timeline that includes detailed set-up and tear-down schedules
- Carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision, including coordinating, and implementing projects
- Work closely with Tournament Staff to insure operational fulfillment of corporate partner contracts and operational support of volunteer activities
- Other related duties/projects as reasonably assigned for the implementation and wrap up of a Professional Sporting Event
- Weekend and Holiday work required
