OVERVIEW | EVENT INTERNS
We are looking for hard-working, organized individuals with a passion for event management to join the Eiger Internship Program, supporting the preparation + execution of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G and ancillary community events, held in Rogers, AR September 20-26, 2021. These individuals must be available to work full-time in Bentonville, AR beginning July 21 through October 8, 2021.
 
The #NWAChampionship is the premier professional sporting event in the NW Arkansas area with a focus on making the region a better place to live and work. Over the past 15 years, the tournament has grown into so much more than a sporting event, now offering events + activities for the entire community to enjoy. The event interns will support the day-to-day preparations of ancillary community events and tournament operations. 
 
These positions offer a unique opportunity to gain real-world event management experience, including partner communication, onsite logistics, marketing skills and event planning tactics. The right candidates will be able to work collaboratively with our team and will need polished communication skills to engage with community stakeholders, clients, vendors and volunteers. Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and a commitment to “Every Experience Matters” are required for these positions. 
 
POSITION SUMMARY
 The Event Interns will work closely with tournament staff in the preparation and execution of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G, an official LPGA Tour event held in Rogers, AR September 20-26, 2021. The Event Interns will gain experience in a variety of areas related to sports marketing + event management, including operations, event planning and sponsor fulfillment. 
  
RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES
  •  Work closely with event staff to plan and execute ancillary community events such as golf outings, kids programming, fitness events and culinary experiences 
  • Fulfillment + delivery of ticketing packages for event sponsors
  • Assist with the execution of community grassroots marketing initiatives
  • Respond to general event inquiries (dates, event schedule, ticket prices, etc.)
  • Help to manage timelines associated with the event including product deliveries, vendor arrivals and set-up + tear-down schedules
  • Support special projects and documentation related to onsite sustainability plan
  • Oversee storage plan including sponsor product logistics + event assets
  • Assist with the coordinator of vendor contracts for the event
  • Administrative tasks such as travel logistics and inventory of merchandise
  • Carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision, including coordinating and implementing projects 
  • Other related duties + projects as reasonably assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  •  Extensive study in a related field (marketing, business or event management)
  • Previous event experience a plus
  • Polished communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong ability to demonstrate initiative, solve problems and work effectively under pressure while working as part of a team as well as independently 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Collaborative in nature with “no job is too small” mentality 
  • Willingness to work weekends and nonstandard hours
  • Interest in sports marketing and event management as a career
  • Must be available to work full-time in our Bentonville, Arkansas office
