Job Title: Senior Manager of Sales and Operations

Job Summary: The Senior Manager of Sales and Operations will be tasked with growing and leading the Ignite Sports and Entertainment (ISE) brands, including the Columbus River Dragons Hockey and Columbus Chatt-a-Hoots Baseball teams, as well as events held at Columbus’s Golden Park, by guiding the internal team through all facets of sales and organizational operations. This position is also personally responsible for generating revenue from the sales of season tickets and group tickets, as well as corporate advertising and sponsorship sales (as schedule allows). This role is both tactical and operational in nature and requires a candidate that is able to handle multiple deliverables and partner with various work groups, while also ensuring that all deadlines are met.
 
Responsibilities and Duties: 
  • Accountable for day-to-day oversight and management of sales and operational workforce to ensure efficiency and productivity, monitoring and managing sales performance and all operational duties of the organization, including gameday operations
  • Responsible for prospecting and building sales of new and existing season tickets and group tickets, as well as corporate advertising and sponsorship relationships (as schedule allows) for Ignite Sports and Entertainment, as well as affiliated events held at Golden Park
  • Identify new sales and advertising prospects and track all contacts, companies and sales opportunities in company provided CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool and ensure personal and team optimization of the tool
  • Oversee collection, creation, cataloging and analyzing of all current and future customer data owned by ISE to be used for lead qualification, marketing, and sales efforts
  • Track and analyze all relevant data and KPI’s to provide stakeholders and leadership with recommendations and insights to ensure success and make data-driven decisions and recommendations for improving the sales funnel and processes, including pipeline growth
  • Accomplish all personal and team goals and objectives for calls and connections made to targeted audiences on a daily and weekly basis, while ensuring accountability of the same goals with the sales and operations team
  • Maintain regular, weekly scheduled check-ins with all sales and operations team members and others who contribute to opportunity development to determine and identify any problems for internal review and action
  • Assist with on-boarding and training new sales talent within the organization, including interns and other groups that may be added at a later date
  • Monitor and inspect all aspects of game night operations and entertainment for ISE, as well as any other event operations at Golden Park, in conjunction with Game Night and Event Operations Manager
  • Contribute to all weekly team meetings and supply input, ideas and experience where needed
  • Participate in recruiting, direction, and planning of game night support staff for Ignite Sports and any event staffing needs for Golden Park events
  • Ensure that a Game Night Prep sheet is completed for each ISE event and any event at Golden Park
  • Interact with all game night staff, interns and announcers to ensure a smooth execution of all game night operations
  • Oversee Pre- and Post-Game set-up and breakdown, as well as any event set up and breakdown, where needed
  • Contribute to all company aspects on an “as needed” basis
  
Requirements:
  • Strong people and project leadership skills are essential to this position
  • Well-developed time management, organizational, multitasking, and analytical skills are a necessity 
  • Must be innovative, with the ability to think on one’s feet both creatively and critically
  • Proven work experience and established successful track record in sales and operations, or similar role
  • Capacity to work with diverse group of direct reports and a knack for bringing people together for a common goal is vital
  • Ability to deliver all projects in a timely fashion
  • Review and knowledge of other successful events and relevant operations is a must
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are necessary – Must be personable!
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
  • Candidate must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Required to be able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Applicant has to stand, walk, talk, listen, use hands, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and sit on occasions to execute the tasks of this position
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, event planning, or relevant field
  • Must maintain a flexible schedule as attendance on nights and weekends, and possibly holidays, based on the game schedule and events, is required
