About the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center
Our campus sits on 155 acres in Chula Vista, with world class athletic facilities, housing and dining. We are an official United States Olympic and Paralympic Site, utilized by Olympians and Paralympians who live, train and eat on campus 365 days a year.
We also offer opportunities for select teams and leagues to stay, eat and train on our site; we have hosted a range of groups, from high school to professionals, as well as many universities, such as San Diego State, Oklahoma & Stanford, just to name a few.
The Olympic athletes who live and train on campus have found that our complex provides an environment without distractions, ideal for focus and preparation; the universities and teams that have trained here over the years have benefited immensely as well.
We are looking for:
A Finance Manager who will produce the annual budget, monthly financial statement, and assist in preparation of reports, ensuring the accounts are reconciled and corrections are made on a timely basis. This position will prepare year-end audit schedules and respond to auditor requests.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For:
- Create the annual budget for the organization.
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule.
- Prepare budget to actual variance report for department managers.
- Prepare the weekly cash forecast.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies.
- Book accounting entries, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll & cash.
- Invoice customers and follow up on accounts receivable.
- Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
- Process payroll on a semi-monthly basis.
- Files quarterly sales tax returns.
- Files federal and state income tax returns.
- File various registration forms with governing bodies as required for a non-profit organization.
- Coordinate and be the primary contact for the annual audit.
- Monitors established internal controls to assure proper compliance and recommend changes in policies and procedures as necessary.
This Role Is a Fit If You Have:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4+ years’ experience in accounting and/or finance to include payroll, general ledger, financial statement preparation and analysis responsibilities
- Experience with computerized ledger systems (Quickbooks preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Solid business acumen, problem solving/analysis a must.
- Must possess strong ethical conduct, personal effectiveness/credibility, and be a strategic thinker.
- Must have a capacity to learn technology needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the job.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage a variety of tasks and meet multiple demands in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
- Must foster a professional attitude and demonstrate integrity and flexibility.
