About the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center 
Our campus sits on 155 acres in Chula Vista, with world class athletic facilities, housing and dining. We are an official United States Olympic and Paralympic Site, utilized by Olympians and Paralympians who live, train and eat on campus 365 days a year.  

We also offer opportunities for select teams and leagues to stay, eat and train on our site; we have hosted a range of groups, from high school to professionals, as well as many universities, such as San Diego State, Oklahoma & Stanford, just to name a few. 

The Olympic athletes who live and train on campus have found that our complex provides an environment without distractions, ideal for focus and preparation; the universities and teams that have trained here over the years have benefited immensely as well.
  
The successful candidate: 
  • Does not need to be a sports expert but must have interest in the field, 
  • Needs  sales exposure: Hospitality and/or sports may be of benefit (such as part of hotel/resort), and 
  • is willing to get up to speed very quickly.
 
Summary
The Business Development Executive will be responsible for developing new business, primarily in the form of:
  • Corporate events, such as team-building, conferences and meetings;
  • Team and League events, such as matches, tournaments & competitions;
  • Team and athlete training, primarily long-term residential athletes;
  • Corporate Sponsorship programs not limited to designation rights, field signage, building signage, and other sponsorship rights. 
 
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Generate new business revenue with local, regional, and national companies, leagues and teams
  • Identify prospective new business leads.
  • Develop and adapt proposals and sales presentations for new business prospects.
  • Close sales and generate immediate revenue.
  • Provide scheduled reports and updates on progress. 
  • Meet and exceed agreed sales goals and objectives from an agreed target plan
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, special events. and holidays, as needed to entertain existing partners and new business 
  • Keep abreast of the sports marketing trends in the marketplace and make innovative recommendations for improvement.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience selling to large groups and companies in the sports and entertainment space or similar i.e. hotel and convention sales.
  • Experience with account management and executing sponsor activations and programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated professional sales presentation skills
  • Must foster a professional attitude and demonstrate integrity and flexibility.
  • Proven ability to manage a variety of tasks and meet multiple demands in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

  • Local candidates preferred.
