Job Description:
We are seeking a results-oriented Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join the team at our corporate offices in Phoenix, AZ. This position is responsible for bringing strategic Technology leadership to the organization by developing and driving the technology vision of the company as the overall Technology leader in today’s complex and evolving technology landscape. The ideal candidate will understand the day-to-day operational demands of an entrepreneurial hospitality company, working within the corporate environment to the benefit of the entire portfolio. As a member of the senior team, the Head of Technology is expected to be a strategic business partner and contributor, understanding key business drivers and building effective relationships throughout the organization.

  • Lead strategic planning efforts for the IT discipline, ensuring that IT programs and initiatives align to company-wide business objectives and strategies
  • Oversee the enterprise-wide, information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the company’s data and servers
  • Partner with the business to communicate at all levels of the organization, in regard to building and executing the company’s IT strategy
  • Work with the business to empower solutions that enhance its core operations
  • Develop, track and manage annual IT budgets, including capital investments
  • Provide sponsorship and oversight for large-scale, enterprise IT projects
  • Establish IT policies and standard operating procedures, adjusting as needed based on business needs and the landscape
  • Ensure all technology assets are protected, secured and have a proper disaster recovery/business continuity plan
  • Lead relationship management at a senior level with key vendors and service providers, ensuring that offerings meet the company’s objectives and evolve as necessary for changing business and marketplace demands
  • Supervise strategic business relationships between IT associates and external organizations, including vendors and service providers
  • Educate the organization on developments in technology, hospitality industry trends, suppliers and competitors’ capabilities and the subsequent opportunities to evolve technology to enhance the experiences of associates and guests
  • Ensure the IT organization clearly understands their role in contributing to the success of the company and maintain a focus on business outcomes
  • Work to develop internal talent that facilitates future growth opportunities for team members in keeping with company’s core values
  • Develop and implement integration of systems

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field required; graduate degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 15 years of IT experience, including at least seven years in a senior director, vice president or other executive leadership role
  • Experience with a large-scale, multi-unit upscale or luxury hospitality or live event organization
  • A strategic thinker who can see beyond what is and imagine what could be with a “think outside the box” mentality
  • Expert working knowledge of C# and .NET framework.
  • Experience programming using Object Oriented techniques.
  • Experience in MS Navision, Dynamics 365, Palo Alto Networks,  
  • Experience using UI development technologies including JavaScript, CSS.
  • Familiarity with other dynamic languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, etc a plus.
  • Experience working on a high volume environment preferred.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets; strong negotiating and contract management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate technical information to non-technical people
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, continuing to deliver quality service and consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles
  • Demonstrated leadership and management style, able to motivate others, build consensus at all levels of the company, create a collaborative work environment and develop others
  • Strong, persuasive communications style both verbal and written
