Position: Manager, Brand Marketing

Reports to: VP, Marketing

Position Summary: Responsible for creating, implementing, and executing the thrilling campaigns that fuel Gulfstream Park with over a million visitors annually. The brand marketing manager’s functions include supporting Thoroughbred horse racing events, ticketing, promotions, food and beverage, and casino business verticals. A day in the life could involve collaborating with various departments; to plan and run a photo/video shoot; to working with graphic designers on the next Florida Derby marketing campaign. Major Responsibility Areas:

Works with venue departments to plan and develop creative assets such as signs, flyers, menus, digital media, animations, and video.
Collaborates with agencies to plan paid media strategies. Works with the agency to ensure that we are achieving our KPIs such as Clicks, Leads, Conversions, Ticket Sales, Reservations, and any other item that relates to and measures our success.
Assists in annual budget planning so that our financial spend is accurately prepared and will drive us to achieve revenue goals.
Oversees graphic design team ensuring accurate and high-quality production of creative materials.
Manages the marketing work queue, ensuring that there is clear communication regarding department requests to graphic designers.
- Activates marketing projects and assigns resources and establishes task due dates.
- Assigns projects to designers, schedules, and oversees progress on assigned marketing projects.
- Distributes project workload effectively and expedites rush jobs.
- Maintains and communicates updates and status reports.
- Secures campaign creative from clients/agencies.
- Provides proof of performance reports to monitor campaign delivery.
Write copy, taglines, and radio scripts to achieve on-brand messaging in a tone that is energetic and fun.
Traffics all creative materials for distribution to various media vendors and agencies including social media, banner displays, video, print, posters, signage, and collateral.
Coordinates all advertising, publicity, and other applicable marketing-related programs, as needed.
Maintains knowledge of local media sources and maintains solid working relationships with external partners.
Establish contacts and relationships with both local and out-of-market media representatives.
Develops ideas and opportunities for feature articles, interviews, presentations, and other public relations activities that promote awareness of Gulfstream Park and experiences.
Plans, coordinates, and executes photo and video shoots with a team of models, photographers, and various departments to ensure every detail is well-prepared and thought out. The candidate will plan lighting, props, and food dishes so that the outcome meets a high-quality standard.
Proactively looks for opportunities across websites, social media and paid media to enhance our marketing output
Manages and directs on-site events from promotion to execution, working across supporting agencies and functional teams at the venue
Strong administrative and organizational skills. Adept at tracking and maintaining various spreadsheets and documents to manage marketing activity, design queues, event schedules, and beyond.
Focus on driving venue visitation and marketing plans to support this objective

Minimum Qualifications:

BS in Marketing or related.
Minimum of 4-5 years combined experience working in a progressive professional marketing role. With 1-2 years in a marketing manager role.
Experience managing marketing projects and activities.
Must possess excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, analytical, communication and administrative skills.
Must be able to interact well with internal and external customers and work as team members.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent grammatical skills are essential.
Must be very knowledgeable of MS Office applications.
Must possess a sharp attention to detail, and have a proven ability to multi-task.

The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.
