Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be a lead sales position that is responsible for outbound sales efforts while also leading the NBA G-League Ignite (GLI) Ticket Sales team. This role is focused on selling premium memberships, season tickets, and group tickets for the NBA G-League Ignite. While continuing to prospect and close revenue towards their own specific goals, the Business Development Manager will also manage, train and mentor individual sales reps as needed.

The Business Development Manager GLI is directly responsible for all goals associated with generating revenue through the sale of new season tickets, partial plans, event suites, premium seating and a focused effort toward group selling for the NBA G-League Ignite. This is achieved with a proactive work ethic through networking and establishing relationships, prospecting, attending events, providing world class service and delivering customized communications, events, and programs. There are also additional revenue responsibilities as new projects are assigned.

Responsibilities

Leader of GLI Account Executives
Assist in the prospecting and interview process of new hires
Provide sales and service training to new sales staff members
Calendar year/ what we sell during different times of the year
Walking them through who we offer, when, why, how we contact them
Explaining all the different products & what amenities come with each
How to reach out using lead generators
Sales process that we use from Lance Tyson training (gatekeepers & intro reach outs, scheduling calls and getting appointments)
Email Etiquette
CRM – taking detailed notes
AXS/ Back Office
Background on team/ general information on brief history
Q & A
Oversee and direct the season seat ticket sales process

GLI Sales Leader
• Meet and exceed individual and team new business revenue goals
• Establish foundation for pure group and event suite relationships
• Present oneself as the key go-to-person for assigned account base
• Sell upgrades, add-ons, and ask for referrals
• Build strong relationships with assigned account base through proactive communication including seat visits, phone calls, emails and other touchpoints
• Make a minimum of sixty outbound calls per day
• Effectively communicate all team happenings, events, and available inventory
• Be proactive, respond to and resolve all customer complaints, requests, and inquiries from assigned account base; handle difficult fans and situations in a calm and professional manner
• Ensure ticket member information and data are accurate and complete for assigned accounts
• Assist in developing and delivering customized benefits, programs and events to drive loyalty within group and premium seating accounts
• Ability to stand, set up and break down sales tables, work nights, weekends and holidays as needed, in addition to traditional business hours
• Develop group sales department by establishing annualized 100+ ticket groups
• Fill and execute gameday Fan Experiences
• Collaborate with Marketing to design and develop theme nights to drive group sales
• Other projects as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:

• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with clients and colleagues
• Working knowledge of a ticketing system
• Previous experience with a CRM system (SalesForce, Microsoft CRM, Kore etc)
Education / Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business/sales/marketing/sports management or similar concentration required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years ticket sales/service experience, preferably in sports/entertainment required
