The 2021 Clark Cup Champion Chicago Steel, member of the United States Hockey League, is looking to add to is looking to add to its talented roster of performers for the 2021-2022 season. 
The Steel are seeking an affable, friendly, fun and dynamic performer looking to take the next step in his or her career. The Mascot will entertain fans as “Rusty”, the Steel’s beloved dog, at home games, special events and community appearances. The successful candidate will have experience as a performer, preferably as a mascot, and will bring energy and passion to the role of “Rusty” and ideas to incorporate him into the game-night in-arena experience. 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Serve as mascot performer at home games plus select special events and community appearances.
  • The ideal candidate will work all events; however, the team will entertain several candidates to fill the entirety of the role.
  • Games are held from September through May, primarily on Friday and Saturday nights, some Sunday afternoons and occasional weeknights.
  • Community event hours vary.
  • Always remain true to the character, and serve as a fun-loving ambassador of Chicago Steel Hockey.
  • Adhere to policies outlined in the team’s Employee Handbook, and adhere to all USHL code of conduct policies.
The qualified candidate should have:
  • Minimum 1-year experience as a performer/entertainer.
  • Positive attitude and a love of children.
  • Ice skating preferred but not required.
  • Must be comfortable carefully walking on ice for in-game promotions.
  • Must be 18 years or older, able to work pro-actively and independently, have a can-do attitude and your own transportation.
