The H-E-B Center at Cedar Park delivers fun, family entertainment including sports, concerts and family shows among other events, bringing energy, excitement, and new business to the Cedar Park, Austin and Central Texas area. The H-E-B Center is home to the Texas Stars, AHL team of the Dallas Stars, and the Austin Spurs, NBA Development League team of the San Antonio Spurs. 


Working at the H-E-B Center means being a part of the premier entertainment venue of the area. We employ a large team of part-time workers, with a lean staff of full-time workers, all geared toward putting on a line-up of amazing events.


The full-time Event Coordinator position requires the ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays as needed. 
 
SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Event Manager in overseeing all aspects of operations related to events in the Event Services department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors: 
 
Event Services Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly schedules for all part-time event staff in a consistent and timely manner
  • Participate in the hiring process while also training all new part-time Guest Services staff 
  • Maintain labor reports on all events and ensure labor reports are within the projected guidelines
  • Establish engaging ways to maintain high part-time Guest Services staff morale
  • Assist the Event Manager, overseeing the relationship with the Austin Spurs and the Texas Stars which include weekly planning meetings to ensure all operational needs are met
  • Assist the Event Manager with all aspects of planning and advancing events 
  • Prepare and distribute event information documents that are done accurately and in a timely manner, so all staff are informed of event details
  • Maintain event recap reports on all events 
  • Establish and maintain new and existing standards of customer service
  • Implement facility rules, regulation policies and procedures
  • Provide clear, concise and timely communication of directives to other departments before, during and after an event
  • Maintains the proper image and generates positive public relations with patrons and staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business, or related field preferred.  One (1) year of professional work experience in a customer service role and knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred but not required.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent knowledge of computers as well as basic computer programs. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays as needed. 
 
Supervisory Responsibilities: hire, coach, discipline or participate in terminations of part-time staff as needed
