JOB SUMMARY:  The individual in this role will oversee the Texas Stars Foundation. The Texas Stars Foundation is a non-profit organization supporting community efforts in Central Texas on behalf of the Texas Stars. This position reports to the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer and Board of Directors for the Texas Stars Foundation. This position is eligible for remote work with supervisor approval.             
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for all strategic planning and execution of all Texas Stars Foundation initiatives including league, club, and player charitable causes
  • Oversee club’s strategic planning and implementation to grow awareness of the Texas Stars community presence
  • Key liaison with the AHL in all community efforts
  • Key liaison with the Foundation board and responsible for implementation of programs on planning and execution
  • Organize and maintain records of team and player community initiatives
  • Oversee Texas Stars Foundation budget and maintain records of all donations – collection and deposit of Foundation donations; Prepare tax-receipts and written correspondence for charity requests
  • Maintenance of inventory of Texas Stars Foundation product donations
  • Coordinates day-to-day operations of the Texas Stars collaborative programs and design of special events related to community relations
  • Manages all fundraising activities of the team, as well as the disbursement of funds to local community organizations via grant application process
  • The development, maintenance and enhancement of all fundraising events, special events, and educational programs related to Community Relations and the Foundation
  • Maintain budgets and funding for new and existing programs
  • Oversee Texas Stars club and player fan mail and emails
  • Game day duties required – oversee 50/50 raffle, game auctions, in-arena check presentations, game day experiences, community activities and special events
  • Coordinate and attend public appearances for players, coaches, and management
  • Oversee signed memorabilia and coordinate player signings for the Texas Stars
  • Maintain community calendar for the Texas Stars
  • Initiate important community synergy partnerships with other non-profit constituencies
  • Maintain a Community Report for the City of Cedar Park and help prepare the Foundation taxes
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization; creates and builds positive and productive relationships

  • Ability to manage appropriate steps to get projects completed; has strong abilities to organize people and processes; can create a plan for resourceful workflow
  • Can manage people and resources to get projects completed; has a strong ability to multi-task and keep order
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of special event planning and execution, as well as, event marketing and grassroots marketing strategies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 1-2 years community relations and/or fundraising experience
  • Understanding of foundations, 501(c)3 non-profit organizations, fundraising strategies, and community relations
  • Required computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
 
Physical Demands and Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is exposed to an arena environment, with noise levels that can range from moderate to considerably loud.
