The Charlotte Checkers are seeking an experienced merchandise coordinator. This person will be responsible for ordering and maintaining a diverse merchandise line for in-game sales and for building a robust online merchandise store.
This person will be a team player that is also proactive in terms of finding ways to deliver a great experience for fans and in terms of finding new ways to generate revenue.
Responsibilities
- Research a wide range of vendors to determine best options and order merchandise prior to and during the season as needed
- Carefully track and manage inventory throughout the season
- Work with creative staff on concept development and design
- Work with ticket sales staff on items for promotional packages
- Build and manage online inventory, handling shipping requests in a timely manner
- Manage merchandise stand and staff for all game nights and special events
- Manage donation inventory/requests
- Understand and utilize (to the extent that it is beneficial) league licensees
- Manage the ordering and coordination of specialty jerseys/replicas
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years experience managing merchandise ordering and inventory, preferably in a sports environment
- At least 1-2 years experience managing customer-facing staff
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments
- Knowledge of e-commerce and shipping
- Excellent organizational skills, both in terms of digital inventory and physical space
- Friendly, customer-facing attitude
- Ability to manage and store bulky deliveries
- Ability to work all Checkers home games (nights and weekends)
- Previous vendor contacts/industry knowledge a plus
- Knowledge and passion for hockey a plus
