Charlotte Checkers 2021-22 Game Day Operations Staff 
 
The Charlotte Checkers are seeking candidates for the position of Game Day Operations Staff. This position offers an inside look at the game day operations of the Charlotte Checkers Hockey Team. 
 
*This is a part-time paid position that is GAME DAY ONLY. No office hours required. *
 **Multiple positions will be filled.**
 
This position is designed to assist all members of the ticketing, marketing and corporate departments specifically during game days and community events throughout the season. This is a part time position with a focus on in game presentation and execution. This position will have heavy interaction with the Checkers’ current fan base. 
 
The Checkers will play a 36 game home schedule during the 2021-22 season, Starting in October 2021 and lasting until mid-April 2022. Playoffs can extend the season until the middle of June.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work at least 85% Charlotte Checkers games (Weekdays & Weekends)
  • Assist in planning and preparing game operation activities.
  • Supports Charlotte Checkers Marketing staff in all pregame or post game events as assigned.
  • Assists with in-game production and promotional activities, including selecting guests for intermission activities and promotions: selecting contestants, Zamboni riders, monitoring interactive concourse tables, coordinating group outings etc.
  • Interacts with Charlotte Checkers Hockey Operations staff, Bojangles Coliseum staff, CRVA staff, Charlotte Checkers Hockey corporate partners and guests of Bojangles Coliseum.
  • Placing and organizing partner signage
  • Partnership activation including concourse marketing
  • Assisting staff with promotional giveaways and couponing initiatives
  • Assisting the sales staff with in arena fan experiences
  • Other duties as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ideal candidate is pursuing a college degree in Sport Management, Marketing or closely related field. 
  • Successful candidates have some experience in marketing and/or customer service, are innovative, self-starters, independent, demanding nothing less than the best, energetic, and organized while possessing excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, members, and the general public.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however during events, the noise level may be louder than a typical work environment.
  • Flexibility to work long and irregular hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays, as assigned.
 
AVAILABILITY:
  • Must be able to attend at least 85% Charlotte Checkers Hockey home games at Bojangles Coliseum, with the potential of playoffs lasting until June.
  • Please note we are able to work with student schedules given that absences are reported with advance notice.
