Player Operations: Team Administration/Operations
This position will assist in the day-to-day operations of the American Hockey League’s
Hockey Operations Department.

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Manage the following aspects of the AHL Officiating Department: 
    • Assist in planning and execution of Referee and Linesmen Training Camps 
      • Organize travel for all attendees 
      • Coordinate agenda details and classroom sessions 
      • Prepare meeting materials and arrange social events 
    • Update, distribute and maintain officiating manuals and other pertinent information on a protected Google Drive for all officials 
    • Assist Finance Department with collection of Officials’ employment paperwork 
    • Collect executed Officials’ contracts 
    • Order, distribute and inventory all equipment 
    • Assist in execution of all Officiating Assignments: 
      • Manage Horizon Web Ref Assigning System 
      • Complete linesmen assignments based on referee travel and cost control 
      • Coordinate the distribution of assignments to officials and seek confirmation of each game 
      • Notify all member clubs of weekly officiating assignments including importing assignments into Leaguestat so media kits are accurate 
    • Book all Referee flights and rental cars 
    • Prepare officiating reports, including supervision, referees seen, games worked and exposure charts 
    • Review and approve referee and linesmen expenses and payables and submit to the 
    • Finance Department 
    • Coordinate AHLTV access for all Officials 
    • Coordinate Officials Immigration paperwork with NHL 
    • Arrange travel and accommodations for All-Star Officials 
    • Distribute on-ice branding exemptions to Officials 
  • Maintain Officiating and Hockey Operations databases and email distribution lists.
  • Assist in the supplementary discipline review process with collection and breakdown of video and other necessary paperwork or materials.
  • Maintain the following League materials. 
    • AHL Travel Book 
    • Order print Materials – Rule Book, Line-Up Cards 

Required skills/experience:
  • Must be self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize, have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, integrity, and a commitment to performance excellence.
  • Passion, knowledge and understanding of the AHL and the professional hockey landscape in general.
  • Possess ability to take constructive input/critique from others and be a flexible and a reliable team player, both within own department and within the organization.
  • Strong inter-personal skills; ability to effectively build relationships with AHL officials and other League representatives.
  • Relevant office and work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and other similar programs.
  • Experience in accounting and expense report management.
