JOB SUMMARY
The Radio Broadcast Assistant provides vital support to radio producers and presenters to ensure radio shows are broadcast in an efficient and entertaining manner.  This position assists with both the creative and technical aspects of radio production.  The Radio Broadcast Assistant is responsible for researching, planning and providing daily content as well as providing general administrative support.  This is a temporary position that ends one week after the 2019-20 Lightning Hockey Season.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as assistant for radio/broadcast department for 2019-20 season.
  • Assist with set up and break down intermission player interviews and/or any pregame or post-game shows during Lightning Radio game broadcasts at Amalie Arena.
  • Function as primary daily content creator/monitor for Lightning Radio Network and Lightning Power Play social media feeds during 2019-20 season. 
  • Assist in collection, editing, and posting of content for all auxiliary programming with team’s radio rights holders, as directed. 
    • Post highlight reels and repurposed programming to 24/7 channel Lightning Power Play and Lightning Power Play REPLAY website. 
    • May also create new audio features for Lightning Power Play. 
  • Monitor radio broadcasts and video streams as directed.
  • Assist with other departments as available and as needed.
  • Other duties, as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Compliance with our Company policy of background checks
  • A strong knowledge of the NHL and the Tampa Bay Lightning is preferred.
  • Must be available for work on all game nights, including weekends, holidays, and late-night broadcasts.
  • Must have some experience in broadcast journalism, broadcast production, and/or print journalism.
  • Must be proficient in editing programs such as Adobe Audition to carry out regular tasks.
  • Must have own laptop computer, and mp3 recording device (reliable smart phone also acceptable).
  • An understanding of engaging, great social media content is preferred.
  • A self-starter, a go-getter, and someone who wants to be part of a great TEAM working together for outstanding audio content is essential for this position.
