Job Summary: 

The role of the seasonal communications assistant will be to assist the Lightning’s communications department in their daily roles and functions. Tasks will include the credentialing process, press box operations, writing press releases and other jobs as they relate to public relations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support the Communications department with all written materials (game notes, press releases and information for distribution)
  • Handle media credential requests and fulfilment 
  • Send out daily clips to staff
  • Create and distribute line charts prior to games
  • Oversee and manage game night staff hours/schedule/tasks/duties
  • Responsible for making sure media areas are appropriately set up during required times
  • Manage press box operations for Lightning home games
  • Aid in player merchandise orders
  • Generate ideas and produce content for Lightning website
  • Respond to fan mail
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Organized, thorough and detail-oriented
  • Hockey knowledge and sports information background strongly encouraged
  • Strong team orientated person
