Facility Operations/Event Staff: Facility/Venue Management
As the key departmental leader on a designated shift, by example, this position is responsible to lead staff to World Class excellence at every level. Responsible to motivate, counsel, and train all staff to have the cleanest, safest, and best prepared building in the NHL and North America.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directs and coordinates personnel and daily activities involved in the successful execution of department operations on a designated shift; rotating on a predetermined schedule to cover other shifts
  • Partners with Talent Management team to interview, evaluate and hire job candidates to fill department vacancies and ensure an optimal level of staffing
  • Demonstrates leadership by training and coaching employees in Housekeeping and Conversion
  • Conducts pre-shift meetings for the purpose of team building, motivation, safety, training, company and event information sharing, and to address group employee issues
  • Proactively communicates with staff to assure a high morale and positive work environment
  • Publicly recognizes and rewards excellent performance
  • Conducts performance appraisals, addresses employee performance management issues, and administers disciplinary action when necessary 
  • Schedules Facility Services staff to ensure deployments are prepared and filled according to event housekeeping and conversion needs
  • Plans and executes off-season summer projects and maintenance
  • Trains and coaches employees on housekeeping and conversion “best practices”
  • Coordinates and tracks employee training sessions related to jobs/safety, orientation, etc.
  • Assists with the development of department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Develops techniques for work method simplification, improving working conditions, reducing costs, and staying informed on matters
  • Practices sound fiscal management with a focus on customer service
  • Assures the health, safety, and security of co-workers and guests by following and ensuring staff follow all operational and safety procedures, rules and OSHA standards
  • Investigates, records, and reports all accidents, safety violations, and employee disciplinary incidents
  • Oversees ongoing maintenance and care of all housekeeping equipment
  • Responsible SDS sheets for all chemicals and products, ensuring they are up to date and in the correct locations
  • Conducts regular quality control and building inspections to ensure cleaning standards are maintained at a high level and building remains in a clean and safe state
  • Contributes to project cost analysis and conducts research for future product purchases
  • Assists with department inventory and resource tracking and record-keeping
  • Maintains a “business professional” appearance during work hours, and at all business- related functions
  • Represents the professionalism and expertise of the department by serving on committees and at meetings or functions supported by the larger organization
  • Committed to achieving best-in-class sustainability practices
  • Establishes and reports at least two annual business related educational self-improvement goals
  • Other related duties, as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Compliance with our company policy of Background Checks and Random Drug Screens
  • Ability to comply with arena and/or league-mandated Health policies
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a large diverse staff
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the sports and entertainment industry
  • 3-5 years’ administrative support experience
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and process thinking skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Ability to multi task, meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Prior experience with ABI Mastermind workforce management software highly desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite Applications
  • Willingness and ability to work a rotating schedule of various hours and shifts including weekdays, overnights, weekends and holidays
