About the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF)

The PHF is the leading home of professional women’s hockey in North America. Established in 2015 as the National Women’s Hockey League, the NWHL rebranded to become the PHF in 2021 and maintains the mission to provide strong role models and fuel the continued growth of the sport. The league is made up of the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, Minnesota Whitecaps and the Toronto Six, who all compete annually for the Isobel Cup.

Department - Sponsorship, Services and Ticket Sales Management

The Buffalo Beauts are a proud member of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), playing out of the Buffalo, NY area.

Position Summary: The Director of Sponsorship and ticketing position is a full-time position that will be responsible for overseeing all the revenue generating departments, sponsorship sales, and executing ticket sales to season ticket holders and groups for the Buffalo Beauts.

The idea candidate will be a person interested in working in the sports industry, whose goal is to run and lead in the sales department. You will be the lead in the department for sponsorships, overseeing ticket sales, guest services, game day operations and community events. This individual will be a full-time employee of the Buffalo Beauts.

Primary & Essential Duties:

Responsible for the overall business strategies and execution of the sponsorship and ticketing departments.
Responsible for generating ticketing and sponsorship revenue through prospecting, cold calls, face-to-face appointments, and networking.
Prospect and cultivate new sales leads
Meeting with prospects, developing partnership proposals and pitching proposals to achieve revenue goals
Meet and exceed weekly, monthly, and yearly sales goals
Working with the Senior Director of Hockey Operations to oversee day to day strategy and leadership of all revenue generating departments.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Hosting clients at games, making sure game day operations run smoothly
Outside meetings, renewing sponsorships and season tickets

Minimum Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree in business, sales, marketing, sport management or similar area
1 plus years of experience in sales with a professional sports team or league
Management experience
Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
Ability to interact effectively and comfortably with clients at all levels of an organization
Excellent communication and presentation skills – written and oral
Extremely coachable with an eagerness to learn each day
Charismatic and team player – must work well in a team setting
Disciplined self-starter
Highly motivated individual with a strong desire to build a career in the sport business

Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required

Note: This is a salaried position with the opportunity to also receive commissions and bonuses. Hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
