Ticket Sales Intern

The Connecticut Whale Hockey Club, through its parent company Shared Hockey Enterprises LLC, is looking for a Ticket Sales Intern to support the team’s efforts in engaging and managing all ticket sales functions for individuals and groups. The right candidate will have a passion for the overall mission of the Connecticut Whale hockey club and the game of women’s hockey, be sales driven and strongly motivated to meet ticket sales targets. Travel within the State of Connecticut will be required.

Job Summary

The Ticket Sales Intern will report directly to the General Manager to support ticket sales and help create a business network for Season and Group Tickets for the team. The Ticket Sales Intern will help develop cross-disciplinary programs, initiatives, and campaigns that contribute to the ticket sales and the community outreach goals of the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Ticketing

● Sell a full menu of ticket products for the team including, but not limited to full and partial season ticket packages, group tickets and hospitality packages.

● Make cold calls from lists of area companies provided to sell full and partial season ticket packages and group tickets.

● Collaborate with the team’s Social Media Manager and to utilize social selling tools to generate new lead sources

● Proactively create opportunities for new business through up selling opportunities and referrals from existing clients.

● Contact past customers in order to generate new ticket sales.

● Effectively follow up with clients and prospective clients in order to build relationships to help provide repeat business and to meet excellent customer service requirements.

● Be onsite at all Whale home games to support ticket sales and game day ticket responsibilities.

● Be comfortable with the team’s online ticket platform as required for ticket fulfillment.

● Cordially and effectively handle incoming sales calls from prospective clients for all ticket sales products.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in business/sales/marketing/sports management or similar concentration strongly preferred.
Relationship building, sales and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels of an organization.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
Extremely coachable and eager to learn every day.
Highly motivated with a strong desire to build a career in the sports business.
Must be able to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and dedication to the mission of growing the game of women’s hockey.
