The Skill Development Professional is responsible for planning and executing hockey related programming at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in support of the organization’s goals of providing exemplary training and development opportunities for player of all ages. In addition, he/she will also be the Head Coach for one Pittsburgh Penguins Elite team.
UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex - Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with hockey programming design and implementation for skill development activities to drive revenue
- Act as lead on-ice instructor for facility related skill development programming including private and group lessons, camps, clinics and team training sessions
- Promote all UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex programs
- Collaborate with partner educational institutions to collect performance data and incorporate results in training protocols
- Respond to customer inquiries within 24 hours
- Other duties as assigned
DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Penguins Elite - Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as Team Head Coach, level TBD
- Facilitate training needed to achieve both team and individual success
- Cultivate relationships with industry professionals and coaches
- Act as lead instructor for weekly skills sessions for all Pens Elite Teams
- Develop a competitive home and away game schedule
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Past Midget, Junior and/or College coaching experience
- Proven record of player advancement
- Relationships within the hockey industry
- Ability to work with male and female players of all ages and abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead in a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Professional mindset with the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Shares development first philosophy
- Valid USA Hockey Coaching Certification
