How to Make the Team
The Partnership Sales Strategy Internship will focus on the lead generation and account management component of partnership sales. Our Interns work closely with the sales and activation teams on researching brands, identifying categories spending in sports, and generating leads. We’re looking for candidates with a hunter mentality, a thorough understanding of partnership sales within the sports industry, and strong communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports the Partnership Sales team in researching brands and developing leads by utilizing tools such as SponsorUnited, ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
  • Develops and presents research collateral for the sales team on category, brand and industry trends
  • Works closely with the Business Intelligence team to uncover data and trends of our fanbase to inform sales pitches  
  • Utilizes sales data site YouGov to pull compelling data on brands and categories associated with the NY Islanders
  • Takes part in new business sales calls when appropriate, and translates key learnings to arm the sales team with compelling data for proposals and presentations 
  • Works with Islanders affiliated entities including Bridgeport Islanders and Northwell Practice Facility 

Your Equipment
  • ·Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college program ideally studying Sports Marketing, Communications, Media Studies
  • Skilled in Excel 
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments
  • Highly organized with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong collaboration and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
Where You’ll Go
You will be working a combination of remote and in-person at our Floral Park, NY Office. In addition, you will be expected to attend home games and other team events at UBS Arena (events can fall on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays).

What You’ll Do
This internship will be five days/week, from January 15th – April 29th, 2022, with an extension for playoffs if necessary.
