Our Game Plan
The New York Islanders Hockey Club is one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports with a deeply passionate and loyal fanbase. We’ve won four consecutive Stanley Cups in the early 1980s and are well on our way to add to that legacy. The next few years will be action-packed as we play our inaugural season in our world-class, state-of-the-art arena, reposition our brand in the Long Island and Metro New York markets, and prepare to reclaim the Stanley Cup.
How to Make the Team
Our Interns bring exceptional video production skills, communication skills, and a strong work ethic. This person should be armed with the following skills, but not limited to shooting, lighting and editing with a focus on storytelling. This role requires the person to be able to work collaboratively and independently as they will be assisting the entire Video Production & Game Presentation departments. This position also requires a high degree of personal integrity, timeliness, workload prioritization and exceptional problem-solving skills. 
Show Us You Can
  • Assist video production team in conceptualizing, producing, and editing captivating video content consistent with NYI brand and values
  • Attend Islanders practices and assist in capture of on-ice b-roll & interviews
  • Attend Islanders Home games and assist in the capture of in-game activations & game presentation productions
  • Digitize, log, and maintain Islanders current and historical video library
  • Maintain a composed manner while working with Professional Athletes, Hockey Operations Staff and Islanders Fans
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and collaborate

Your Equipment
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college program studying, Communications, Event Production, Broadcast Journalism, Television Production or Theater Production
  • Experience shooting with professional mirrorless and ENG cameras 
  • Knowledge of non-linear editing software and Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience in field of production & lighting techniques
Where You’ll Go
Given the impacts of COVID-19, you will primarily be working remotely. Otherwise, you will primarily report to our Floral Park, NY office. Along with:
  • Attending home games and other team events (events can fall on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays)
