Facility Operations/Event Staff: Custodial/Housekeeping
Job Title: Overnight Porter, Janitorial Services
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Spray and squeegee all windows, glass and doors to remove prints, streaks and other messes.
  • Sweep and mop all floors, including in lobby, on stairs, in locker rooms, in bleachers, and in restrooms.
  • Run Floor Scrubber across all rubber floor areas (including in weight room, main lobby, around rinks, in locker rooms).
  • Sweep and mop all metal bleachers, including as able under the bleachers.
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas.
  • Clean and sanitize drinking fountains and water dispensers.
  • Sweep, mop and disinfect bench areas.
  • Disinfect and wipe down hard surfaces like counter tops, tables, handrails, etc.
  • Empty trash and replace can liners.
  • Restock all dispensers when empty, including paper dispensers, soap dispensers and hand sanitizer dispensers.
  • Spot clean walls around trash cans, as needed.
  • Dust hard surfaces and hard to reach areas (including under facility vehicles, under/behind furniture, etc.).
  • Dust and wipe baseboard areas, including all areas of stairwells and hand railings.
  • Maintain general cleanliness of the facility.
  • Perform upkeep items on checklist throughout the day.
  • Clean up after guests, including removing trash around the rink.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by FIC Senior Manager, Facility Operations.
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • 18+ years old.
  • Must be reliable, polite, cooperative, and work well with others.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills, a pleasant demeanor and good judgement.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have leadership experience.
  • Ability to work Friday-Sunday evening hours, including holidays.
  • As a condition of employment, qualified applicant will be subject to a background investigation, including a criminal history check, previous employment verification and character references.

Essential Physical Functions:
  • Physical activities include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, balancing and handling of materials. 
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work with and around water and ice and to work at or below freezing temperatures for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather. 
  • Ability to speak and communicate clearly with others. 
  • Wearing face mask and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for long periods of time.
